What is The 21-Day Sugar Detox (21DSD)?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Is this detox hard? It really depends on how you eat now and what you're used to. One thing I love about the 21DSD is that there are three different levels to choose from so you can find what works best for you.

Q - Will I lose weight? Although this is not a weight loss program, most people do lose weight on the 21DSD as they cut out processed foods and sugar. Additionally, since this is essentially an elimination program, you will reduce inflammation which can also result in weight loss.

Q - Can I exercise while doing this program? ABSOLUTELY, I actually encourage you to keep up with your regular exercise routine while doing the 21DSD. There are also energy modifications (all of this will be discussed and is explained in the book) for those who need more due to extended workouts or training.

Q - Can my kids do this too? My whole family needs to cut out sugars after eating so much junk for the holidays!! YES, your kids can participate with you! There is information in the book that discusses how you can modify this detox for your whole family (family and kid modifications since kids obviously need to eat differently). You also have access to Coach Jenny the entire time and she will be available to help you figure out what this can look like for your whole family.

Q - Can I do this if I eat strictly gluten free? Yes! This program is 100% gluten-free. It’s also soy-free, corn-free,  and very allergen-free friendly. Level 3 of the program is also dairy-free.

Q - Can I do the 21DSD if I follow a Paleo or Primal diet? YES, you will follow level 2 or 3 of the program.

Q - What kinds of foods will I be eating on the 21DSD? Do I have to cook a lot? You will be eating real, whole, nutrient-dense foods. You will not be eating refined and highly processed foods. This program will require that you get your hands dirty in the kitchen, but Coach Jenny will provide you loads of tips and tricks for how to manage the program while dining out, traveling, and overall living a busy modern life.

Q - Do I have to cut out alcohol on the 21DSD? Yes. Since we are focusing on resetting your body, your tastebuds and your habits, we do cut out all alcohol for the 21 days of the program....but, since the holidays are over, now is the best time to do this and you'll find leaning on the support of your group will give you the extra motivation to stay strong and abstain from the wine and cocktails. It's only three weeks - you can do it!

Q - After the 21DSD what do do? THAT is the beauty of doing this as a group and with Coach Jenny as your guide. She will give you tips and tricks to help you continue with your new healthy eating lifestyle in a way that is manageable and doable for the long-term.

Q - What does a "virtual" group mean? I'm not very tech savvy and worry I won't be able to participate. Participating in one of Jenny's "virtual" group programs means you participate completely from home via your computer, iPad/tablet or even your phone. You will receive a link via email (and in our FB group) to log into our weekly meetings. The link helps your electronic device set up and you will automatically connected. Jenny will work with you to figure this part out, it's not hard and works with all laptops, tablets and smart phones. The meetings are video based so you will see Coach Jenny the entire time and you have the option to turn off and on your video as you wish. There is also a "call in" option so you can listen into the call if you'd rather not watch.

Q - What if I miss one of the meetings? All meetings are recorded and the information you missed will be sent to you so you can watch the replay. You will receive a weekly email with any links and all meeting reminders so you can plug in and participate as much, or as little, as you would like.

Q - Can't I just do this 21DSD on my own? YEP, you can. However, it is proven that working with a coach and with accountability groups greatly increase your success and the after effects of any program. 

Q - When does the group 21DSD detox start again? We will begin as a group on Monday, January 14th . There is also a BONUS pre-detox week that begins on Monday, January 7th the week before the detox. The pre-detox session Coach Jenny provides a week before the detox will give you information to help you get your pantry, refrigerator and mindset in the right place for a strong start.

Q - I'm ready to start NOW, can I start early? You can, but I encourage you to wait and start with the group so everyone is in the same place at the same time.

Q - This sounds great but I think I need a more personal approach. What if I don't need a sugar detox at all? Is that really the answer for me? The truth is, most all of us can benefit from the 21DSD!

Q - I know I can do this for 21 days but I'm nervous about what to eat AFTER the 21DSD! Coach Jenny will help guide you before, during, and some time after the detox. You will get all the tips and tricks to make this a lifestyle.

Aren’t ready to try giving up dairy yet? We have you covered! Don’t eat meat? If you are willing to eat eggs, dairy, and seafood—then the pescetarian plan is for you!
